UKZN the next university to announce 8% fee increase
However, only students from a household income of more than R600,000 will pay the increase

The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is increasing its fees by 8% to ensure the "long-term financial sustainability and survival" of the institution‚ it said on Friday. The decision had not been an easy one to make‚ said Lesiba Seshoka‚ the university’s spokesperson. UKZN’s council approved an 8% tuition and an 8% residence accommodation fee increase for the 2017 academic year.
