The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (Sadtu) on Wednesday hit out at the jobs-for-cash report commissioned by the Department of Basic Education, saying it was part of an attempt to destroy the union by portraying its members as corrupt. Sadtu also said there were racist undertones to the report, in that it sought to portray its majority black members as unethical, and that it was riddled with inaccuracies and innuendo.
