The decision to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) was "taken carefully" and had still to be approved by Parliament, the government says in court papers. SA’s decision to withdraw from the Rome statute, which established the ICC, was met with outcry, and the DA challenged it urgently in court, backed by legal nongovernmental organisations. The case is to be heard on Monday and Tuesday in the High Court in Pretoria.
