Sasfin CEO Roland Sassoon discusses half-year results, which show a 19% decline in headline earnings per share

Roland Sassoon is the CEO of Sasfin. BUSINESS DAY TV: Banking group Sasfin has reported a near 19% drop in headline earnings for the six months to the end of December, a major step back having grown full-year earnings 29% in the year to June. Sasfin is also on the cusp of striking a deal with Wiphold to come in as a 25.1% shareholder, a fully funded BEE (black economic empowerment) partner. Joining us now on News Leader is CEO Roland Sassoon. Roland it seems like it’s been months that you’ve been talking to a potential BEE partner and now the news today that it’s Wiphold. So you’ve given them a period of exclusivity but does it look as if it’s going to be a done deal? ROLAND SASSOON: Yes, they’ve done the due diligence, so we’ve passed the due diligence and now we’ve just got to finalise the deal.
