Spokesman Clayson Monyela said the two-day meeting would be held on Friday and Saturday.

"It will focus on, among other things, implementation of the decisions of the AU summits, exploring mechanisms for capacity building within the AU, continental economic integration and political unity," he said.

The meeting comes after last month's assembly of heads of state and government, where Benin President Yayi Boni was elected chairman of the African Union.
