Tanzanian great signs with Universal

Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz has been signed up by Universal Music, becoming the first East African artist to join the international company. Coming on the heels of the announcement is news that he will be releasing a track, “Marry You”, with American R&B artist Ne-Yo. Universal plans to release the track ahead of Valentine’s Day. Diamond Platnumz is one of Africa’s top artists, with 172m hits on YouTube. The collaboration with Ne-Yo was recorded in Nairobi in 2015 and the video was shot in Los Angeles and Jo’burg.
