Despite suffering some serious injuries in the Absa Cape Epic, rugby hero Joel Stransky is in high spirits. He even posted a photograph of himself strolling in a parking lot dressed only in a hospital gown exposing his blue, hospital-issued underwear. He tweeted: "Really good night sleep! Thanks again all for inspiring support! Got me walking and almost back to the mountains!" Stransky fell at the weekend during the prologue stage of the race. He sustained injuries to his face‚ a broken rib and a punctured lung. On Monday he assured his fans on Twitter that his surgery went well. "Need plastic surgery to restore good looks‚" he joked. Stransky is not the only sports star to drop out of the race. Professional cyclist Andrew Mclean fell and broke his collarbone.
