It is a unique situation in the bloodstock world — two yearling sales in the same province in three days. These are the sales in the Western Cape: Thursday (March 16) — Bloodstock SA host their Cape Yearling Sale at the Mistico Equestrian Centre, between Paarl and Durbanville. A total of 142 lots have been catalogued. Saturday, Sunday (March 18, 19) — Cape Thoroughbred Sales host their March Yearling Sale at Durbanville Racecourse with 256 lots catalogued. The yearlings on offer at the Bloodstock SA sale are by well-known stallions such as Ideal World, Philanthropist, Var, Gimmethegreenlight and Judpot, but it is the new boys on the block that will interest many buyers. These include the first progeny of Dynasty’s son, Jackson, What A Winter, Master Of My Fate, Duke of Marmalade, Noble Tune, Potala Palace and Durban July winner Pomodoro.
